Encima Del Mundo is a large cortijo that over the last 7 years has been refurbished and formed into living accommodation and rental units. No marble floors and double glazed windows here, the property has been stripped and repaired, with the original doors and windows used wherever possible, keeping all the charm of a traditional Spanish farmhouse.
The property sits on the mountain above Fuente Del Conde, Iznajar and it has the most magnificent views that stretch to Iznajar and the lake.
The house (cortijo) and land is totally private, not over looked, and has 14,600 m2 surrounding the 429 m2 build, including a central courtyard. Most of the land is actually mountain land that looks after itself, but directly surrounding the pool and terraced area, it has olive groves with about 80 trees.
The cortijo is entered via antique double doors into a double split level central courtyard the building around the courtyard has been split into 4, there are two self catering apartments, (we call them cottages as they are on two floors for extra character), that have given an income over the last 7 years with many return customers. Each cottage has two bedrooms with en-suite showers rooms, lounge with wood burner, kitchen, private terrace and BBQ. Each has its own private entrance (not via the courtyard), although one has a locked door into the courtyard that can be used should you have family staying that you would like to have direct access. The cottages will be sold furnished equipped and ready for rental including bookings, website and current advertising.
The living accommodation consists of an open plan modern but rustic Andalucian bespoke kitchen split level to the dining room, kitchen will include fridge freezer and range style cooker. From the dining room a further room, we use as an office, with a wood burner and door out to the terrace and pool, down a split level stair case there is a living room with open fire, double doors onto a terrace overlooking the pool and the fabulous view. Up the stairs is a very large bedroom with en-suite and an internal terrace, the view is spectacular its always shaded and is a great place for an afternoon siesta, it has built in seating, we have a wall mounted tv up there where we spend most summer evenings. Back off the courtyard there is a further bedroom with dressing room and en-suite for guests on room only or further family.
The fourth wing of the building is yet to be completed, but was planned as a further 1 bed cottage that could be linked with the guest room if two rooms were needed and it was not in use. However, because this may not be a requirement form a purchaser we thought we would leave it to choice. Especially as the section would covert quite easily covert to a hotel or restaurant with splendid lake views. Because of the huge amount of land particularly wood land, there is also scope for activitie options ie paintball, assault course.
Outside we have a shed (small room on the corner of the house) a garage / workshop a huge gravelled front area with willow ash and fruit trees. The ash offers natural shade and always offers a soft breeze away from the mid day sun. The pool 12x 6 meters is surrounded by lawn, and there is a small pool house for storage, separate from the pump housing. Round by the cottages there is a further shared seating area fab, place to watch the sun go down.

Access is good, via a mostly concrete track.
Rental income: has been around £10,000 per cottage baring in mind we rent between May and September only and this is around friend and family visits.
Services: New electricity supply we paid for in 2008 which is excellent.
Phone: We have a telefonica radio phone, which works perfectly, but we use skype for calls @ £33 for the year unlimited to Europe land lines.
Internet: Iberbanda broadband internet @ £45 per month, or dial up with telefonica @£30
Water: Mains
Sewerage: Is on two poso negros they work perfectly and have never had to be emptied.
