This unique property is located in the Alpujarran foothills of the Sierra Nevada with spectacular views sweeping down to the Mediterranean about 30 kms away. Most of the neigbouring mountainside is a mixture of wilderness and farming land, with scattered olive, chesnut, and other trees, and there are only a small number of other houses in the area.

The property is about 500m above the town of Lanjaron (with bars, restaurants and shops) reached by a concrete road approximately 2 kilometres long.

Outside, the house is surrounded by terraced gardens with one of the terraces featuring an architect designed swimming pool.

The house itself is ecofriendly with water supplied from a private 10,000 litre tank which is filled by the owner once a week or fortnight. Water is gas heated while space heating is provided by a wood burning stove. Cool mountain drinking water is usually obtained from a spring in the town. Lights, mains and the pool pump are powered by a PV solar system. A gas cooker and refrigerator both run on bottled gas. Sewage is to a soakaway.

Inside, downstairs there is a large open plan area with a traditional stone floor comprising kitchen, dining space, and sitting space. Two carved walnut pillars support the upper floor above. A wood burning stove supplies ample cosy heat in the winter evenings. Off the open plan area are a small entrance porch, the main bathroom and a cellar which houses the solar system. French windows lead onto a slate terrace which is covered by a fruiting vine covering a sitting area with spectacular views of the mountains, perfect for dining al fresco on the balmy summer evenings. The terrace leads to a kidney shaped swimming pool.

Upstairs is laid with wooden floors. A landing gives access to three good sized bedrooms, one single and two double. Also off the landing is a W/C with a washbasin. Steps lead up to a fourth attic bedroom. All bedrooms have amazing views and the main bedroom has a door that leads outside to a slate sun terrace with steps down to the swimming pool.

The one acre of gardens is terraced and laid with grass and trees, mainly walnut and olive.

Steps lead up to the top terrace where there is parking space for several vehicles.

There is also a small outhouse which houses a backup petrol generator gas for the water heater.
